Traveling with Kids & Babies

Babies benefit from a free hold baggage, within the standard limits: 23 kg and size 100 x 80 x 30 cm.

If you bring a stroller, made up of one or more pieces, it will be transported free of charge. You can use the stroller up to the plane, here you give it to be put in the hold. After landing, you receive the stroller after getting off the plane.

During takeoff and landing, you can help your baby equalize the air pressure by giving them a bottle from which to drink small sips, a lollipop or pacifier.

If you are traveling with kids up to 5 years old, you can bring a stroller free of charge. It can be used up to the plane.

We suggest bringing something like chewing gum, lollipop, candy drops or some water/ tea to drink, so they feel less discomfort during takeoff and landing.

Families with children have priority at check-in and boarding.

Can a minor travel alone? Details on unaccompanied minors.

Minors can travel alone on an AirConnect flight with our unaccompanied minor service. We will look after your child at the airport, during the flight and after landing.

Minors that can travel alone are children between 5 and 18 years old in case of Romanian citizens and between 5 and 14 years old for other nationalities. For domestic flights in Romania, children between 12 and 18 years old can travel alone without paying the unaccompanied minor service, regardless of nationality.

The service can be requested by parents even if the child is over the age limit mentioned.

Minors traveling alone should be brought at check-in at least 2 hours before take-off, with the documents required by law.

Traveling with Pets

Your furry little friend, whether it's a cat or a dog, can travel with you.

If it weighs up to 8 kg, including the cage, it can go in the cabin (PET service), if it weighs more than 8 kg, it goes to the hold (AVIH service).

All animals must be at least 3 months old, vaccinated, clean, odorless, independent of breast milk, non-pregnant to travel.

Cage sizes allowed:

  • maximum size of 40 cm x 30 cm x 24 cm (length x width x height) for PET
  • maximum size of 120 cm x 80 cm x 80 cm (length x width x height) for AVIH

You can transport more animals in one cage if a decent comfort is provided to stand or lay simultaneously without touching each other but respecting the weight and limit allowed.

In order to travel with a pet in an EU state, live animals must meet the following requirements:

  • have a microchip implanted under the skin
  • have a health certificate
  • have a valid rabies vaccine, in accordance with this EU legislation
  • have a passport for animals, issued by the veterinarian.
